Ok, I stopped by LA Fitness today and got my orientation and consultation. Of course I will be starting with a cardio regimen. The elliptical machine looks to be my best bet. No impact and with the combination arm workout I can get sweating and get the inches off.
But as an added part of the program I want to work to broaden my shoulders a bit. I have a shot at a part in an upcoming movie (yeah, imagine that). They are looking for a big guy (I will be that for a while, even with dieting and exercise), but they want someone a little less round. So while I carve the meters off of my midsection I will be doing some middle deltoid work to add a yard or two to my shoulders.
To this end, I have found Shape Fit dot com. Not only do they have a comprehensive list of every exercise imaginable, each one has a short graphic demonstrating how it should be done. There is a lot of information and support there. Check it out.
